To set up a game of High or Low, you will need a standard deck of playing cards and some drinks. (Be sure to have enough drinks for each player). You may also wish to have shot glasses ready if you plan on playing the “Shot” variation of this game.

High or Low Rules

The rules for High or Low are simple – each turn, one player draws a card from the deck and must guess whether the next card will be higher or lower than their current card. If they guess correctly, they get to keep the card and their turn continues. Additionally, If they guess correctly or it’s a card with the same value, they get to pick someone to drink. If they do not guess correctly, they must drink according to the card value that is revealed, if it’s Tow, 2 drinks, Three, 3 drinks, and so on. The next player then draws a card and continues until all cards are drawn from the deck.

High or Low variations

One way to make the game more exciting is by introducing a “Shot” variation – if a player guesses incorrectly three consecutive times, they must take a shot! Another tip would be to add your own house rules such as having players draw two cards instead of one, requiring players to drink for incorrect guesses even when no one guesses correctly, or allowing players to pass on their turn in order to give them extra time to think.

Tips for Playing the High or Low

High or Low can get intense as players begin to guess incorrectly and take more shots. To keep things lighthearted, set a limit on how many consecutive incorrect guesses each player can make before they have to take a shot – this way nobody gets too out of control! It’s also important to make sure everyone knows the rules beforehand so that there is no confusion during gameplay.

High or Low is a classic drinking game that is great for any gathering. With the right setup, rules, and tips, you can be sure to have an exciting and enjoyable night playing this fun game! So grab your friends and drinks and get ready to experience the thrill of High or Low!
